This weekend’s agenda for Figueira da Foz may not be very full, but it is not lacking in quality. Let’s see.
The 2023 edition of the
S. João – Festivities of the City of Figueira da Foz begins today.
with the Sardine Festival, which this year for the first time will take place on the left bank of the Mondego, in Portinho da Gala, until Sunday.
For the second consecutive year, the organization is in charge of the Culture and Sports Center of the Workers of the Municipality of Figueira da Foz, which will open the party grounds to serve the much-anticipated sardines, at 19h00 (days 09 and 10) and at 12h00 (day 11).
Still in the field of food, for three days, Praia de Quiaios will be the capital of “street food”. Dozens of vans and other adapted mobile kitchens will be in the green and refreshing space of the Quiaios Beach Picnic Park, providing a unique and extremely varied gastronomic experience, ideal for families and groups.
The already famous Street Food Festival will run throughout the weekend and also promises a lot of parallel entertainment, including a stage with a concert program.

The Harley-Davidson National Meeting will take place this year in Figueira da Foz, on June 9, 10 and 11. The whole program is here https://www.encontronacionalhd.pt/programa and promises a very motorized weekend.
Today we have the usual film session at the João César Monteiro Auditorium, with the recently awarded Mal V iver (Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival 2023), a film by João Canijo and that the following week will fill Friday again with… Living Badly.

And why not end spring in beauty on the trails of the parish of Moinhos da Gândara, getting to know the rural north of the municipality of Figueira da Foz better, to “disjoin” so much beach and sun?
This is the proposal of the local Parish Council, which invites you to discover, in a 16-kilometer run and a gentler 8-kilometer walk.

Saturday there is music at DRAC with Átona Fest Air, a small festival that was born in Barreiro and aims to give space and visibility to emerging rock bands. In this second edition, 4 national bands are coming to ÁTONA:

Doors open at 5pm.
On Sunday, the Vela Pravida Association, whose main objective is the recovery and enhancement of the Lagoa da Vela and its surroundings, will hold the 4th Cycle Tour, this time to discover the Eurovelo route, to the municipality of Cantanhede. An excellent opportunity to get to know the north of the county and the Gândaras area.
