Welcome to another weekend in Figueira da Foz!
June is the month of Popular Saints, a little all over the country, but particularly in Figueira da Foz, where São João is “king” in this season.
The historic Dez de Agosto Philharmonic also joins in the festivities with its Arraial de São João, at Largo São João do Vale, in the heart of the old town.
The longest night promises to be a long one. It begins with the parade of Popular Marches, starting at 9:30 pm, followed by the traditional fireworks at Praias do Relógio, Cova-Gala and Quiaios when the 12 chimes ring.
Soon after, in Praça do Forte, one of the great bands of the moment in Portugal, Quatro e Meia, will be present. It promises a flood!
And in the streets you will find the always lively popular festivals.
The most resistant and courageous can go to Praia do Forte at 6 am and try the always fresh Banho Santo.
On Saturday morning, city day, the 131st anniversary of the Municipal Market will be celebrated, where several initiatives will be promoted by the Senior University of Figueira da Foz, whose headquarters are located on the 1st floor of the Market.
Afterwards, the Municipality of Figueira da Foz invites everyone to sing congratulations to the Market and there will be no lack of candles or the traditional cake.
Already in the afternoon, the Clube Náutico da Figueira da Foz organizes another edition of its São João Regatta, for all classes of sailing boats and with the races taking place during the afternoon. An excellent opportunity for beautiful photos, on the river and in the ocean bay of Figueira da Foz.
At night we found two very different suggestions.
The “Figueira Back to 80s 90s” party, in its GLOW PARTY version, is back at the elegant Caffé Room of Casino Figueira.

DRAC will celebrate St. John’s Day with a night of modern music with Olive Tree Dance. The entertainment follows with two DJ’s, Bistek Toe and Tomaz8.
On Sunday, the festivities of St. John will come to an end with a very full program.
And if you haven’t already… it’s today or next year! The Caldeiradas Festival ends today.
