We are a week away from St. John ‘s Day and the highlight of the weekend inevitably goes to the city’s festive program, which kicked off yesterday.

The Fair of the Parishes opened its doors in Praça Dr. João Ataíde. Until the 25th the animation will be great and the gastronomy of the municipality will be able to show itself to the diners who mark their presence.

Tonight’s evening will be filled with the Style Dance Group from Alqueidão and the CMBC Folkloric and Ethnographic Ranch from Paião. Miguel Araújowill be the headliner and DJ Johnny B. will close the night.

On Saturday, at 3pm, the Mondego River hosts a crazy regatta.

The evening entertainment is provided by people from Paião, Vila Verde and Santana. The poster speaks better than us.

On Sunday, Lavos and Bom Sucesso shine on stage 2, while stage 1 hosts the CAE Jazz Orchestra.

Alongside the city’s festivities, there is no shortage of events elsewhere in the county.
It is worth mentioning the beginning of the Sports for All Program, a program of the Municipality of Figueira da Foz, which extends until September, whose objective is the promotion of physical exercise.

Today the latest film by multi-award winning Portuguese director João Canijo is shown at CAE. “Viver mal” is the title, in a less somber approach than last week’s film, “Mal Viver”.

Saturday there is Open Surf Day, organized by the Surf Figueira da Foz Association. It’s open to everyone, especially families, in celebration of International Surfing Day on the summer solstice, with lots of free activities included.

“There are many hats” is the proposal of Clube Mocidade Covense for Saturday evening. Actor Jorge Magalhães “embodies several characters who were great actors of the Portuguese panorama” with accompaniment of period music.

DRAC Direito de Resposta Associação Cultural, on Morraceira Island, holds another night of Trance, with live performances by Kafo, Mogli vs Noah, Trainwerck, Frenetic Frequency and Vuuda and sets by Folxis vs Yin Yahto vs Levit .

On Sunday, the parish of Mallorca celebrates Saint Anthony again, with a program of religious and recreational activities, where there is also the typical sweet rice.

A show of music, color, youth and joy is what they propose to offer the public, in the Grand Auditorium of the Center for Arts and Shows, the children’s / youth choir groups that will be present at this Meeting, together with the host Choir of Small Voices of Figueira da Foz.
