Guided tours return to one of the most beautiful examples of Figueiran architectural heritage: the Sotto Maior Palace and its beautiful annexes and refreshing gardens with majestic trees. As Pó de Saber, the company that is organizing this visitation program for the summer of 2023, explains, “Palácio Sotto Maior is the most sumptuous family residence in Figueira da Foz, built between 1900 and 1920 for the family of businessman Joaquim Sotto Maior”. The program will start on 1 July and run until 31 August 2023.
There will be 8 daily visits, between 10.00 and 18.00, from Tuesday to Sunday. Friday mornings are reserved for families and include a program of discovery of the Palace, especially for children. Tickets cost €5 and are free for children up to and including the age of 12.
These visits will cover “the history of Figueira da Foz as a tourist destination, before touring the precious interiors of the Sotto Maior Palace, its Fine Arts architecture and appreciating the original furniture”. The tour covers 3 floors of the Palace and lasts 1 hour.
