Daniel Jonas is a poet, playwright and translator. As a poet, he has published, among others, Sonótono (Cotovia, 2006), which won him the PEN Poetry Prize, and Nó (Assírio & Alvim, 2014), awarded the APE Teixeira de Pascoaes Grand Prize for Poetry. He was also one of seven poets nominated for the European Freedom Prize for his book Frequent Flyer (Língua Morta, 2013), translated into Polish by Michal Lipszyc. He had previously been awarded the David Mourão-Ferreira Europe Prize by the University of Bari/Aldo Moro for his work as a whole.
