TOGETHER WE CAN GIVE JOHN HIS FREEDOM
Seven years ago João Abreu Sousa had an accident at work that left him quadriplegic, totally dependent on others. This concert has as main objective to help João Abreu Sousa to acquire an adapted van so that he can feel more autonomous and make the whole process of moving around easier.
The Organization “Together we can give freedom to João” invited, for this purpose, the Women’s Association of Tavarede, the Choir Group David de Sousa, the fado singer Sara Travassos and a Great Orchestra directed by maestro Paulo Silva. About 90 young musicians from the municipality of Figueira da Foz will be on stage, united to perform this Solidarity concert. Works by Portuguese authors such as Afonso Alves, Antéro Ávila, Carlos Marques, among others, will be performed, as well as the premiere of a work by conductor Paulo Silva dedicated to João.
