The Pirate Festival is back and the Walls of Buarcos will once again be the setting for one of the region’s most original and lively historical re-enactments. Although they were partly built to protect the communities from Figueira da Foz from the incursions of the corsairs that plagued our coast until at least the 18th century, the ramparts have their original function here and, during the days of the festival, dozens of actors and extras in period costumes and weapons will be present.
Crafts, games, parades, lots of street entertainment and many taverns and street restaurants with a wide variety of food and drink await visitors. An event for all the family, in a “co-production” by Zarabatana and the Buarcos Parish Council.
