The salt pans of Figueira da Foz, the so-called “salgado”, is not only one of the local economic and cultural treasures, it is also one of the richest areas of the region in terms of biodiversity, not to mention the stunning landscape of the Mondego River estuary.
To highlight these natural heritage sites, the excellent Núcleo Museológico do Sal, in the Armazéns de Lavos, is organizing a discovery programme in May for parents and children aged 5 to 12.
The initiative runs from the 7th to the 21st of this month, participation is free but subject to registration and activities always start at 3pm, including: Green Sensory Experiences, Green Walk, Green Collections and Green Recipes. A truly living and experiential museum and a unique opportunity to get to know the Cobra Corridor Municipal Saltworks.
