A unique opportunity to learn more about the traditions of the communities on the south coast of the municipality, in the company of geographer Hugo Duarte. “Esgueirões”, as the inhabitants of this area are called, are the descendants of migrants from Esgueira, Aveiro, who settled here in times gone by, giving rise to today’s remarkable communities such as Leirosa or Costa de Lavos, where artisanal fishing of xávega art still survives, being one of the few places in the country where it still happens.
More than a walk and a lesson, it will also be a day of conviviality, which includes lunch at the Costa de Lavos picnic park.
