The weekend is approaching and Figueira da Fozis preparing for another sea of events happening all over the municipality. Now listen:
Yesterday began, and continues until Saturday, another edition of Woodrock, a festival of modern rock music with heavier sounds taking place in Quiaios, and whose organization has been successfully defending environmental sustainability practices. MeetFigueira is a proud partner.
There’s Vinyl at Casino Figueira. We went to the premiere, wrote the corresponding chronicle and recorded it photographically. Now entering its 2nd week of screening, running until the beginning of September, it is a guarantee of high quality entertainment. The proposal stands.
Today is Friday and as such there are movies at CAE. From the multi-award-winning Turkish director and historian Emin Alper comes one of the “fiercest trilers of the season”: Days in Flames. It starts at 21:30 and the ticket costs 4€.
Another edition of the Book Fair opens tomorrow at Praça Dr. Fernando Traqueia in Buarcos. The program is extensive and begins with the presence at the weekend of Júlio Magalhães and João Pinto Coelho.

Throughout the weekend, the Beach Sprints national championship in sea rowing will be held in Praia do Forte. It has more than 70 crews and nearly 150 athletes from various national clubs. Follow the entire program here:

The 7th International Ladies Open Tournament, organized by the Tennis Club of Figueira da Foz and featuring some of the most talented athletes on the world women’s tennis circuit, begins on Sunday. It features a $100,000 prize-money, the largest in women’s tennis in Portugal.
Summer festivities continue throughout the municipality.
The Grupo Recreativo Vilaverdense invites you to a night out with Banda Larga and the usual food and drink.
At the Summer Festival in Quiaios, in charge of the Quiaios Club 1921, there will be gastronomy, lots of music and popular marches, in Largo do Mercado.
In Ferreira-a-Nova, we will have three days with a vast religious, recreational and gastronomic program.
The weekend closes in great beauty, with a concert evoking the life, work and legacy of Manuel Fernandes Thomaz, by the Maria Fernanda Rovira Symphony Orchestra. The Concert will bring together around 170 people on stage. Admission is free.
